SVC Discussion: Police in the Schools
This program is part of Skyline Village Chicago's series exploring racial injustice in our country and city.
The Chicago Board of Education recently voted to extend their contract with the Chicago Police Department to keep police in the schools at a cost of $33 million per year. Do you agree? Find out why many educators at CPS think police in the schools is a bad idea. Two CPS educators Dave Stieber and Jackie Charles will join us for a discussion on why they want police out of the schools.
There will be time to answer questions about police in the schools, as well as the struggle for education equity, eliminating Columbus Day from the school calendar and the Reparations Won curriculum.
There will be a 20 minute presentation, followed by Q & A.
